About the Project
It Never Ends, is the first album from Bay Area rock band, Taxes, and our first collabroative project together. Using a beautiful painting from Hickory Mertsching, I pulled inspiration from the artwork to establish the remaining layout. I didn’t quite want to just use the artwork as created, but wanted to add a collage-like element that played with the foliage and skulls in an interesting way that could be carried through the interior and exterior. The type for this album went with a really simple approach, only utilizing system fonts for the minimal amount of text.
The album was featured in Redefine Magazine’s Album Covers of the Year.
